Dhubri (Assam) [India], April 1 (ANI): AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal once again made a controversial statement over marriage and targeted former Assam Minister and Congress candidate Rakibul Hussain. The AIUDF chief said that he has no power and gave birth to only one child.
Ajmal further said that if he wishes to marry again, he will not go to ask the Assam Chief Minister.
“He has no power and gave birth to only one child and I have seven children and few of them are now young, 40 years old. If I wish to marry again, I will not go to ask the Chief Minister,” Badruddin Ajmal told media at Gauripur area in Dhubri district on Sunday night.
Earlier, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that if he (Badruddin Ajmal) is planning to marry again, he should do so ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, as polygamy will become a criminal practice by law in the state thereafter.
The Assam Chief Minister was reacting to Badruddin Ajmal’s recent response to comments by Rakibul Hussain, the Congress candidate for Dhubri parliamentary constituency, who called Badruddin Ajmal an ‘Old Tiger’.
Badruddin Ajmal responded, “I am not so old. I can marry again.”
On the other hand, targeting his rival Congress candidate, Rakibul Hussain, the AIUDF chief demanded a probe into the rhino killing incidents that took place in the state during the Congress regime.
“The Assam CM is saying that if Badruddin wins, then Moulabadi will increase and if Rakibul wins, then I will be happy. I am also raising the Rhino killing issue, and I would like to demand the Chief Minister initiate a probe through vigilance to find out the facts, such as how many Rhinos were killed, when it happened, who was involved in it, who was involved in trade, and all the facts will come out,” Ajmal said.
